I didn’t read the most recent reviews so also missed the fact that it’s a pocket sized book. Even though it’s small it’s still very comprehensive and readable. The colors are vivid and help understand anatomy. I’m keeping it as it’s a simple yet easily readable. Seems great for basic/initial understanding of human Anatomy.

Interesting to brush up on human anatomy and physiology!! I teach A&P at college level and find most pages to be quite accurate. Some students have bought it to brush up / get an overview of body systems during their semester.

Neat little book. It is like pocket size. My daughter is very interested in the human body so I got this to answer her questions about anything and everything about the human body! There are a few chapters in the back about things such as infertility and other "things that can go wrong" (the chapter is called something like that) that I don't show her, but other than that this is a great little educational book. And wins me mom points when I can tell her exactly what the red blood cells do AND can show her a picture!

Am I the only person surprised at how SMALL this book is?? Ok, I see now that the dimensions are listed under the Product Details. Admittedly I didn't look there. I glanced and saw that it was 448 pages and read the leading description, and EVERY OTHER BOOK of this nature that my son has ever checked out from the library has been a large, coffee table sized book. I was disappointed to receive something barely larger than a pocket book. I take full responsibility since it is in fact detailed online, however if this is an unusual size for this type of book, which it seems to be to me, I think it would be nice to mention that somewhere near the beginning of the description. It is still full of lots of great info and illustrations so I'll probably keep it for him, but I will need to get a second larger book to make this the Christmas present I intended it to be for my anatomy-obsessed 5 year old. :)

This was the textbook for my biology 103 class, I liked the book so much that I bought it after returning my rental. Great illustrations and explanations for literally every function of the human body. Absolutely amazing and concise info that would be extremely hard to collect online.

Bought this for my 6 year old son, I was actually expecting something smaller, containing less information, but I'm not complaining. It's got it all in there and he's been happily just randomly "reading" it and asking questions. If you're concerned over a younger child learning about the reproductive system, you may want to buy something else, or stay close while the browse, but I find it's been a great way to kind of breech that topic on a nice scientific level (in other words talking about the differences, even seeing how women carry a baby, but not going into details about how babies are actually made... not ready for that talk just yet). Lots of pictures, a good amount of information without being too technical and advanced. I dig it. Well worth the $5 I paid for a used copy.

Anthea Sharp offers up some enjoyable reading in her book "The Perfect Perfume and Other Tales: Seven Fantastical Victorian Stories". Each story differed from the others and offered its own set of interesting characters. The adventures approached the Victorian era from a variety of angles and each one offered a unique and fantastical look at the period. I can honestly say, I enjoyed them all. Very well written too! Loved it.

I love good steampunk stories, and this is a very entertaining collection of them. All of the stories are set in the same world and era, but each has a different plot and unique characters. Much fun to read!

I think of Steampunk as more of a visual style rather than storytelling, but this captures the flavor (flavour?) quite nicely. Highly recommended.

Another amazing book. I loved all the characters . the story was really great. I cant wait to read more!!!

I adore Anthea Sharp’s books, and have been gobbling them up ever since I stumbled across the first of her fabulous Feyland stories (as an aside, if you’ve missed these stop now and download them asap you will not regret it - but then do come back). It’s no surprise that an author as talented as she is can ace the steampunk alternative history genre too. Hence we have The Perfect Perfume and Other Tales: Seven Fantastical Victorian Stories. Steampunk dirigibles, clockwork mechanical fantasies, magic and adventure - and seven rousingly fantastic tales all perfectly written with this author’s trademark fun plots and superb characters. You just can’t go wrong with these. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. This collection of stories definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the collection is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

I would also suggest purchasing her earlier work One Skein: 30 Quick Projects to Knit or Crochet with just one skein projects, I also really enjoyed that one and also had to purchase my own copy after checking it out from the library.

I completely agree with the previous reviewer, T. L. Coons. I have several editions of the Vulgate Latin Bible and the Douay-Rheims translation already on my Kindle but this is clearly the best and easiest to use. I also downloaded the new Electronic Latin Dictionary by Lucas Nicolato and, by making it my primary dictionary, I can quickly find the meanings of unfamiliar Latin words in seconds just by clicking on them. What a great Bible Study tool for Catholics interested in the original Latin text of the scripture!

This translation, with its side by side English and Latin verses has helped me learn Latin chants. Some of these include: In Paradisum (with Psalmum 121) by The Cistercian Monks Of Stift Heiligenkreuz. What more would a singing soul need!I realize the Latin rendition of the Pater Noster appears markedly different from what is contemporary, then again, I'm happy to be singing along with the Holy Monks, yiiiiiiha!

AWESOME Bible for anyone who wants the un-modernized version of the Catholic Bible. Matches everything in my 1885 bible. Each English conversion is matched with the original Latin line-by-line. Verses are easily found through the user-friendly index.

OSNOVA, how DO you do it?! I have been wanting a complete Catholic bible for my kindle for quite a while now. Dragged my feet because I'm a more modern translation (i.e. NRSV) kind of girl and the D-R didn't exactly appeal to me and it is, as yet, the only Catholic bible available with Direct Verse Jump (DVJ). I've got a Catholic Study bible NT on my kindle but it is a small nightmare to navigate. So, for me, DVJ was a MUST.Finally bit the bullet because I've been wanting to brush up on the Latin that I studied so many years ago. Thought that at least with this version I'd have a dual purpose for purchasing (in case I hated reading the D-R).My pleasant surprise is four-fold:1. The formatting is unbelievably beautiful -- especially for, essentially, a parallel bible. Each verse, paired in both English and Latin, is separated by line breaks with plenty of white (meditative) space all around. So, I might have only between two and four verses per kindle page, but I am able to really let it sink in. Contemplative heaven!2. The D-R translation is an elegant and economical translation. Less really is more; thanks Mies van der Rohe!3. I never saw this one coming... The Latin helps me to further understand the 'spirit' of the English words chosen. Valuable complementary pairing.4. The older English words don't usually register on my radar. Apparently, I automatically translate to the modern words in my head. When reading a few verses out loud to my daughter at her behest, only modern language came out.Knowing now how much I will use this -- especially with the DVJ -- I would gladly pay three times OSNOVA's asking price. Did I mention that DVJ is a godsend for e-bibles? OSNOVA, seriously, how do you do it?

I'm having trouble with the direct verse jump. I cannot see how it works in this kindle version. There is no reference to it in the introduction or table of contents. I search for the words 'Direct Verse' and they don't occur in the entire text...and I can see no notation that allows it to work (as it does with my Kindle King James)....???? I hope I'm missing something simple...but I can't see it.

For anyone that wishes to approach the Latin Vulgate with facility, this edition is a Godsend!For those learning Latin, this format will increase fluency along the quickest trail.Do your self a favor, just try it...

I like the verse by verse versions one after the other, a great way to practice Latin and read scripture, but the lag in moving anywhere further than a page is worse than anything I've ever seen on a kindle before.

This version is easy to use and works beautifully on my Surface. As another reviewer mentioned, the Latin helps me understand the spirit of the English translation and gives it a depth that I would otherwise lack. Thanks to OSNOVA for making this Bible available at such a reasonable price.

Beautifully illustrated book on the history of race in Chicago.

An excellent read and good insight into the Chicago riots of 1919. It is wonderful that listening to your grandmother’s stories fueled the desire to write such an important book! Hopefully many schools will add this to the reserve section of books in their curriculum.

Great book with an excellent depiction of a historical event.

This is a compelling and informative book for teens and adult readers. What the author selected to present from her historical research, how she structured the story and excellent writing throughout make this an engaging and thought-provoking read.

It was an excellent historical overview of Chicago and the lives of the people who,lived there. Easy to read and interesting too.

This is an exceptionally well researched and written that is a must read--particularly given the times in which we live.
