I was more interested in the secondary romance. The heroine was a lot nicer than Sage. I wanted this book so much, waiting for it to be at a good price, and really wanted to read Roak's story. The story itself was written very nicely, but not the characters.Roak deserved someone better than her. Sage was just mean and selfish. I wanted to like her, because I liked her in the previous book. But she was so rude here! I couldn't believe how different she acted. She kept referring to Roak as a "kid", and it annoyed to me to no end, simply because he was 3 years younger than her. He certainly acted a lot more mature than her.Bonnie was a great character, and I wish there could have been a whole book for her romance. She was real, respectful, selfless, and not stuck-up.Also, the ending for this was crappy, like some of the reviewers said. They reunited in less than a page.

This author never disappoints with her western series. I only happened upon this author in the past year and I cannot get enough of her books. Luckily, she has written several. I have enjoyed them all.

I could not wait to read this book. I knew Sage's story would be filled with her wanting her way and fighting with Drum, but I think it went a little over board in that area. She fought with him over everything. And I was tired of her constantly seeing him as a kid the first half of the book. I did enjoy the book and if you have read the others you will want to read this as well. It's a great addition to the series. When Sage finally see's Drum for who he really is, the book starts geting better and better. All in all it was kind of a slow start but is very interesting and ends good. Bonnie and Brad were a nice addition to the book. Texas princess was my favorite, and I was disappointed Tobin was the only brother not in this book. But it was nice to visit Whispering Mountain again, and even hear from Martha:)

If you read Jodi Thomas's books. Read the whole series they are wonderful. You fall in love with her caharacters and don't want to leave them hanging.

This time Safe and Drummond were the story and like in the other books there was lots of excitement, killing, kidnapping a slimy saloon owner, this is a great story.

I got this book and many others by Jodi Thomas; but all of her books are no longer available in print. Have to either get them for kindle or buy them used. Wish I could find one store where I can buy them all in one place! Much prefer that Amazon can sell them besides the kindle version. This and all the books I was able to order arrived quickly and are in great shape! My wife is very excited about this author!

I agree with the one reviewer that gave the book 2 stars. Sage runs hot & cold with a touch of spoiled brat; actually I think Drum could have done better than give his heart to someone so childish. Nurse Bonnie Faye Pierce & Brad Summerfield was the true love story in this book. They were 2 people who had never had much and through adversity and unlikely circumstances came together with a sweet story. I loved the other Whispering Mountain books and this was good also but when Drum risked his life to save Sage from the count and all she did was berate him I thought what an ass; my opinion didn't improve as the story progressed. Teagen should have tanned her hide when she was a kid. I felt for her when she lost Michael Saddler the Ranger she loved but was killed in book 2 that was so sad and how she cared for him. But for this she went away to medical school in Boston and endured the rigors of being a woman in the 1850s wanting to be a doctor, she didn't show much maturity in her dealing with Drum. diamondgirl

Students of Japanese culture and history will find this book enjoyable. It is well researched and concise. I particularly enjoyed the eye witness accounts of the famous forty seven ronin incedent, which I had never encountered before. Overall a great read.

This is a well-written and well-translated compilation of samurai lore, covering Japanese history from mythological times to the Edo period. It covers the most famous incidents from that history, utilizing whenever possible, writings from as close as possible to the actual events. It is particularly valuable for the section dealing with a first hand account of the Chushingura Incident or The Forty-Seven Ronin, which is so essential to understanding the Japanese attitude toward the conflict between duty to society and one's personal feelings. I felt as though I had come a long way toward understanding this crucial element of Japanese life after having read the book and that section in particular.

The other book I read about the Samurai written by Jonathan Clements is wonderful . This book is even better. It is a marvelous account of the history of the Samurai. The author of the book Hiroaki Sato is a fantastic writer, not only is he a master in selecting the proper historical facts , but also how masterfully is written. Full of force and passion, you will love it!!!

Gave it to my 12-year-old grandson as he is interested in these people now and is a voracious reader. He seemed very pleased.

On the other hand if you are already experienced on the field you may find it rather basic, but still containing bits of knowledge and tips that many salesman either forget, dont know, or just dont apply. Even if you are not from the sales field the book can be useful because even if you dont sale products or services, we are always selling ideas to others.The book has over 200 pages, but the pages are short and you can plow through it rather easily. You can read it in a day depending on how fast you read. IMO the most important points are the 18.5 actions and the 12.5 principles of selling. You should memorize those and then delve into the chapters that detail each one of them. There is a chapter for each of the 12.5 principles, and the 18.5 actions are spread throughout the chapters.

Fantastic book! Covers way more uses and moves with a Foam Roller than what I was shown by my PT. Using these I got my back issues much more stable than weeks of expensive PT.

Great book with clear cut exercise instructions, photographs and modifications. I especially like the section for different types of relief according to the anatomical areas that are causing problems. Highly recommend!

Foam Rolling is well illustrated, and contains different protocols for different issues. Sitting down too much? There is a series for that. Tight chest or armpit? You are covered. Need to stand up and release? There are series against the wall.While I am always looking for more new and interesting exercises on the roller, this book is geared to clients at home, not to personal trainers or Pilates folk who already know the basics of myofascial release. Woodworth addresses that audience well, with clear photos and explanations of what to do and where to place the balls and rollers for maximum benefit.Note that if you want to experience the full workouts, you will need more gear than just your roller.(I received a copy free for review from the publisher. My opinions are my own.)

What a great memoir!Calling Dr Laura is the raw and honest memoir of graphic artist Nicole J. Georges from her childhood to this day and her life in Portland Oregon. The novel focuses on her search for her natural father, her coming out of the closet as a queer, and the process of finding who she is as person. The book has a good deal of her childhood memories and family related issues, which are not adorned or sweetened, but presented in a very naive straight forward way. She could have demonized her mother for the whole story related to her natural father, but she does not so; she does not hide anything bad about her life, experiences or people she comes across, but she does not judge them and focus more on how she felt or feels. How difficult to do and how well done! The narrative alternates the present with episodes of her childhood. The parts about her childhood are really wonderful but also a bit sad.The reading is very engaging. That is so because the book is well paced regarding the subjects presented and how they are presented, the U-turns that the author makes but still coming back to the main road, so to speak. The story is never bland or boring. Although the mystery in the novel is resolved in the epilogue, it lingers throughout the book without being overpowering.I truly liked Georges' style and versatility. She uses different graphic languages and fonts to convey meaning and create atmosphere. Although most of the book is set in interiors, I loved her drawings of road and urban landscapes. The drawings of her childhood episodes, which are very simple and child-like, are just adorable, and very different from the more elaborate and arty drawing for the narration of Nicole's present. I think this is one of those books that would have been great having it in full colour, as the book cover's image is.My favourite scenes are her story of her intestinal problems when she was a kid, the one of the boat when Radar dumps Nickie, and Nickie's fight with her mother in the car about she being a selfish brat. I also love the dog's language balloons she adds when she communicates with her dogs or they don't know what is happening - very cute.

Another awesome graphic memoir! Nicole does a wonderful job of balancing the dramatic moments of her life with humor. I felt the "plot" moved along smoothly and I was genuinely hooked into the "father" element of the story. Also, her drawings alone make this a 5 star purchase. The author has a podcast I've started listening to since reading this and she's very entertaining on that as well.
