Anthea Sharp offers up some enjoyable reading in her book "The Perfect Perfume and Other Tales: Seven Fantastical Victorian Stories". Each story differed from the others and offered its own set of interesting characters. The adventures approached the Victorian era from a variety of angles and each one offered a unique and fantastical look at the period. I can honestly say, I enjoyed them all. Very well written too! Loved it.

I love good steampunk stories, and this is a very entertaining collection of them. All of the stories are set in the same world and era, but each has a different plot and unique characters. Much fun to read!

I think of Steampunk as more of a visual style rather than storytelling, but this captures the flavor (flavour?) quite nicely. Highly recommended.

I adore Anthea Sharp’s books, and have been gobbling them up ever since I stumbled across the first of her fabulous Feyland stories (as an aside, if you’ve missed these stop now and download them asap you will not regret it - but then do come back). It’s no surprise that an author as talented as she is can ace the steampunk alternative history genre too. Hence we have The Perfect Perfume and Other Tales: Seven Fantastical Victorian Stories. Steampunk dirigibles, clockwork mechanical fantasies, magic and adventure - and seven rousingly fantastic tales all perfectly written with this author’s trademark fun plots and superb characters. You just can’t go wrong with these. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. This collection of stories definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the collection is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
