About the Author

Michael Pellet is a former NCAA Division 1 Track and Field athlete, specializing in the Throwing Events. Michael is now a NCAA Division 3 Track and Field Coach, for the throwing events. Prior to coaching at the collegiate level he had been a high school track and field coach, at some of New York State's elite high schools for athletics. While at Schenectady High School in New York, Michael was the head coach for both the men's and women's indoor track and field programs, which saw the Men's side win the conference championship, and produce state athletes in the jumps. Michael was the assistant outdoor coach while at Schenectady, which produce another conference title, as well as state athletes and secure Michael as one of the Section 2 State Team Coaches. Prior to Schnectady, Michael developed a youth program in NYC, which through his unique view and creativity in the sport, found them practicing on the rooftop of the school in which he taught at in New York City. Lastly before his youth program Michael was the throwing coach for the Catholic High School Athletic Association of NY's powerhouse team Fordham Prep. While at the prep Michael found success with the throws, by creating numerous sectional athletes, Penn Relay's finalists, as well as Eastern States Champions. During his high school and collegiate career Michael has secured school records, conference titles, qualfying and medaling at the Verizon Millrose Games, qualifying for the NCAA Regional Championships and the IC4A Championships and was Nationally Ranked in the Discus Throw in 2003.

I am coaching throws this year at a University and have never thrown a discus or shotput in my life I have always been a sprinter. So I took on this challenge ordered this book and realized the book does make it easier to set up drills and programs. Its fundamental things but I have always been told the fundamentals are what wins races and events.
