This is a classic mystery series which will charm you. Jenny Starling is a travelling cook and also a very reluctant amateur detective. (Note: this book was first published as "A Fatal Fall Of Snow" under her pen name Joyce Cato). Jenny is spending Christmas in a snowed-in country house cooking for a distraught family. On Christmas Eve, one of them is found dead on the kitchen table. How can Jenny have their finger pointing at her? She'll have to help the police identify the real killer. This is a mind-blowing, gripping murder mystery with a surprising ending. I loved it and highly recommend for other mystery readers.

Good story with a well paced plot. Many characters hold the readers attention. A fun read on a winter day!

I really enjoyed the Hillary Greene series and read ALL of them.This series was a bit too cute for me and I just did not buy that one womancould be a superb chef, gorgeous to look at and that she could solve murderswhen professional detectives were completely stymied.Having said that, I will probably continue to read them as they are light,frothy and not too intellectually demanding.A true English "cozy" is often a good antidote to gritty, bloody thrillers that proliferate now.

Miss Hillary, but Jenny is a terrific character to follow, although I don't like the physical appearance of this new character, its too hard to visualize accurately. When reading I picture the main person while they are doing everything and anything, but with this character its too big to visualize correctly. Needless to say, still entertaining as always.

This is a good winter mystery, so get your drink of choice, a comfortable seat and enjoy.

This one was pretty obvious for me. No spoilers, but it was pretty clear what the deciding factors would be in the solution. I'll try one more in this series, but if it's another re-write of a previously released book, I may take a pass on additional books in the series

Not sure if this is the right place to report this but I ordered Winter Mystery a couple of days ago and last night started to read the book. I immediately recognized it as something I had already read. I find that it has been released under this new name. Originally it was titled A Fatal Fall of Snow by a different author's name. I may have read a sample or may have read the entire book, can't recall. Can you check my record to see if I did in fact already purchase this somewhere back in my history of having a Kindle. I would like to return this for a refund.

I enjoy the way this author developes the characters. I especially like the heroines. The descriptions bring them to life and you imagine yourself as part of the story.
