He has organized them by topics of interest (disasters, transportation, etc...) allowing the reader to approach "Lost Cincinnati" as a kind-of reference book or as a cover-to-cover narrative.The writing is accessible yet informative which makes this travel through history interesting and fun. Every city would be well-served with a book this compelling.
Good history. Well written book with lots of facts especially for those who have lived in Cincinnati. Suess' recounting of many memorable places and buildings, Albee theatre, Crosley field, Peebles Corner, Union Station, Coney Island/Moonlight Gardens, etc., makes the history of this charming city alieve again. I wished for more including the inclusion of the excellent park system, more historic churches, and specific neighborhoods, particularly in the eastern part of the city. For those who like and remember all things Cincinnati this is a must read..Hope it won't be long before Jeff Suess provides a follow up. There is much good history in Cincinnati to fill several volumes.
The author presents a special combination of historic photos & accompanying text that makes this a great collectable for former & present residents of Cincinnati, and an interesting read for everyone who loves reading about about the past.

I loved reading about buildings and businesses I have heard about and seeing buildings I have been in when I was younger that are gone like the grand Albee and wonderful Shubert. This book has great information about Cincinnati's history. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great book! The vintage photos ,well written and researched anecdotes will enlighten and educate even lifelong Cincinnatians.

It's okay. Some subjects interesting others, more than enough detail. The writing is a bit formulaic at times, little color or interest.
