David Bowman's passion is teaching and working with youth. He has taught at a high school level and is a popular youth motivational speaker, traveling around the country to speak at various venues. David is the author/illustrator of several books for young audiences, including the best-selling Who's Your Hero series. My (very smart and informed) ten year old loved this book, but already knew much of it. Then again he has me teaching him things other parents may not be talking about with their kids, and has attended two of the best elementary schools in the country, so he'd been taught much of it already. If either of these scenarios aren't present for your child, I highly recommend this book. I think it may have been better for an eight or nine year old, or for a kid who hasn't learned enough about what makes our country so special. Well written, well done.

Sadly, today's education system has all but removed the Founding Fathers from an agenda-driven curriculum designed to ensure that America is viewed as evil rather than exceptional. This book should be required reading for all students. In plain, easy to understand terms, the Founders speak to a generation that has been denied a sense of pride and called upon to apologize rather than celebrate. This book celebrates our Founders and provides a message to the young: Ignore your elders (and your President) who claim America is the problem. America is the solution. Read this yourself and then let your children learn how our system of government WAS the greatest in the world from the Founders themselves.

This is an outstanding book for both young people and adults because we know that young people today are not being taught the true history and greatness of this country and the principles on which it was founded. Most adults today weren't taught it either unless they are senior citizens. It would make an excellent textbook for government classes and also home schooling. Not only is it a teaching tool, but it is done in a very humorous way. I have given two copies away to people with children (one is only a year and a half old, but it's never too late to plant the seeds) and am keeping one for myself for now.

I have several of David Bowman's books. He is extremely talented and my 13-year-old absolutely raves over this book. It is a very engaging history book that also makes you think. Get it!

Ten thumbs up!! I loved reading this as did my 9 year old son. My father-in-law (who loves history) even picked it up and read it in a day and commented on how wonderful it was! I think it'd be most valued by older readers (jr high/high school), but can be valued by anyone who loves our country..

Entertaining, funny and overall educational. I'm and adult that migrated to America when I was 15. I've never enjoyed reading or history but this book was captivating and most importantly I feel is is all true!!

This is an excellent book for all ages. I think every home should have a copy. David Bowman tells it like it is, in a way that tweens, teens and adults can easily understand and appreciate. I recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about how far we've strayed from the government our wise forefathers set in place for us.
